One word. One thing.

Posted by Johanna Fox on

What’s your word?

There’s a fun trend where you pick one word at the start of a new year to give your year focus. We asked the StitchCraft staff what their words are for 2021.

Here is what they shared:
Kelly … Growth
Cindi ... Peace
Patty … Possibilities
Lisa … Kindness
Raine … Creative
Ae … Positive
Diana … Healing
Johanna … Grace
Peg … Hope
Kristin … Write

Our Facebook group was just as willing to share their words, too. Did you add yours? If not, you can always add to the comments below.

Just one thing.

We also asked ourselves what’s one new thing we’d like to try this year. As in new year, new craft.

Kelly = Quilting (after cross stitch)
Cindi = Crochet
Patty = Knitting
Lisa = Machine embroidery
Raine = Knitting
Ae = Hand embroidery
Diana = Wool applique
Johanna = Weave and watercolors
Peg = Make a pillow from a mini charm pack
Kristin = Crochet a granny square

We will have to check in with the staff in a couple of months to see if we all met our goals. What’s one new thing you’d like to make or learn this year?

  • I have made several to match all my bed quilts. I buy commercially made shams , then appliqué a Dresden plate or square made with fabrics in the quilt onto the sham. Easy-Peasy!
